THE NEW Lord Mayor of London paraded through the streets of the City of London on Saturday at the annual Lord Mayor’s Show.
Alan Yarrow started Lord Mayor’s Day by being rowed down the river on board the Queen’s row barge Gloriana, accompanied by a flotilla of traditional Thames cutters.
The procession started later in the morning from Mansion House with thousands of people taking part, in floats, marching bands and other displays. This year also saw the City of London’s copy of Magna Carta join the procession for the first time.
