ALMOST fifty hot air balloons took off last Sunday morning to create an incredible sight over London and help raise money for charity.
It was the second year for the Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta organised by Exclusive Ballooning following the success of last year’s event which raised almost £80,000 for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
Balloons in a variety of colours took off at sunrise in Burgess Park , south of the river, before gliding across the Thames behind Tower Bridge and out in to East London, passing Canary Wharf on the way.
