THE SQUARE Mile is set to welcome another landmark tower after the City of London Corporation approved plans for a 31-storey development at 130 Fenchurch Street. The scheme, designed by Fletcher Priest Architects, will deliver more than 57,000 square metres of Grade A office space alongside significant improvements to the surrounding public realm.

Located close to Fenchurch Street Station, the new tower aims to meet demand for high-quality, sustainable workplaces in the City. The development includes terraces and green spaces designed to support wellbeing, while its architectural form tapers to reduce overshadowing of nearby heritage assets. Sustainability measures such as energy-efficient systems and a reduced carbon footprint during construction are central to the design.
The project will also enhance pedestrian connections between Fenchurch Street, Billiter Street and Fenchurch Buildings, creating more inviting ground-level spaces for workers and visitors. Public access to new retail and leisure facilities is included, ensuring that the tower contributes to both commercial life and street-level vibrancy.
This approval underlines the Corporation’s continued focus on balancing modern business needs with sensitive integration into the City’s historic urban fabric. Once complete, the tower is expected to reinforce the City’s global reputation as a centre for finance and commerce.
